About the Game

Slash your way to math mastery

Number Ninja is a fast-paced arcade game where shurikens fly across the screen — each one carrying a possible answer to a math question. Your job? Click the shuriken with the correct answer before it escapes off the screen.

With every correct slash, you earn points and build a combo streak. String five correct answers together and you'll unlock Shadow Mode — a slow-motion bonus round where points pour in. Miss or slash the wrong target and you lose one of your three lives.

It's simple to pick up, genuinely exciting to play, and quietly doing the hard work of drilling mental math into long-term memory — one satisfying slash at a time.

HOW TO PLAY

Number Ninja takes less than a minute to learn. Here's all you need to know:

Read the Equation

A math problem appears in the panel at the bottom of the screen — for example, 7 × 8 = ?

Spot the Answers

Several spinning shurikens fly across the screen, each carrying a number. Only one is correct — watch for decoys placed close to the right answer.

Slash It

Click or tap the shuriken with the correct answer before it flies off screen. Be quick — but be accurate.

Earn Your Belt

Complete 8 questions across 3 waves to earn your next belt rank. Each belt unlocks a harder math topic and a faster challenge.
Wave structure: Each belt has 3 waves. Wave 1 is calm and forgiving. Wave 2 adds an extra decoy and picks up the pace. Wave 3 is the Boss Wave — rapid-fire, five answer choices, and tight spacing. Clear all three waves to rank up.

Progression

THE BELT JOURNEY

Progress is tracked through a traditional martial arts belt system — a structure kids find naturally motivating. Each new belt introduces a more advanced math topic, and a brief belt ceremony rewards the achievement before the next challenge begins.

💡 Tips

  • Start at White Belt even if your child is older — it builds confidence and lets them warm up before the harder belts.
  • Play in short sessions. 10–15 minutes a day is more effective than one long sitting, especially for younger learners.
  • Let them fail. Missing a life is part of the game. Encourage kids to think about what the correct answer was before starting the next round.
  • Use it to target weak spots. If a child struggles with times tables, focus on Orange and Green Belt rounds specifically.
  • Celebrate belt-ups — even casually acknowledging a new belt reinforces that effort and practice lead to real progress.
  • Try it yourself. Playing alongside children (especially on the harder belts) shows that math is something adults engage with too.
